i arrived safely back in bainbridge island after a travel duration of over 24 hours. wow. now we are back to reality....working and school.
after jared and i said our good-byes in quepos, my mom and i flew from quepos to san jose, where we spent 3 hours at a local restaurant--chosen by our taxi driver. it was a great spot...the atmosphere, taste, service, great prices...great coffee, etc. afterwards, we went to a market across the street where we found some souvenirs for a large discounted rate versus quepos. then, we were off to the airport in san jose. it was great because we were on the same flight to miami (we didnt originally plan it!)...so it was nice to spend some extra time together, although, i was sleeping most of the way. the next leg of my flight was to LA...where i had a 6 hour overnight layover...which was spent trying to sleep under some pay phones against a carpeted wall. i would not recommend this.
so, i am back...and am having to adjust back into this very different culture. it was almost an easier adjustment in quepos with jared...i guess that feels more natural.
a lot of people are asking me what i will be doing in quepos. the best answer i can give right now, is that the lord knows. i am trusting that he will continue to guide us in his perfect timing, as he has been doing all along. there were many possibilities thrown in my direction while i was there, but nothing that really sparked anything. mainly, i am sparked by community. i would love to start some kind of bible study or small group...with people our age, or even younger girls. overall, God knows where i am needed most, so i will continue to trust...which is even more exciting to me than knowing.
this upcoming month and a few weeks is very important to jared and i. he is finishing up his first main segment of time in quepos, and i will be finishing my time here at islandwood. this time will take focus and perseverance during the hard times apart from each other. it is hard being apart, but God even prepared us for that while we were dating.
as of now, we are planning on moving back to quepos probably sometime in july. we are looking into different types of housing while we are there, please be praying for wisdom for that decision.
we are very excited to be part of what God is doing in Quepos. i see a great need and miracles are already taking place. we spoke with a missionary who lives in san jose (a grad from taylor!) and she said people have been praying for people to move down to Quepos to serve. so...lord willing, we are going. how exciting!
i am very thankful for my trip to costa rica to spend some time with my husband and getting to know Quepos. it was my best spring break ever. we had a blessed time and look forward to the future.
