days at the cabin

here are some pictures of the cabin we have been living in this summer. it has been in the cantrell family for about 20 years.  no one has permanantly lived there for that duration, which has brought some plumbing problems that we have dealt with.  the plumbers came out on numerous occasions to diagnose the problem....it has been an adventure.

the plumbers discovered that there were roots growing inside the pipes and septic system.  now, its fixed...but we have enjoyed "roughing it."  here is me doing dishes in a bucket.

here is my compost bin.  i am attempting to do it in this container with holes in the bottom.  so far, so good!  it was a great joy to see bugs in there when i checked it the second time!  i love soil :)  jared always makes fun of me for it...
here is the digging the plumbers had to do to find the pipe to see what the problem was.
one of our favorite games we have played is scrabble.  this game, i am winning so far...but that usually changes very quickly.  i have enjoyed playing games with jared :) that is one of our favorite things to do together.  he has introduced me into a whole new genre of games.  

married life is great.
