the first few days...

ok, so the past few days at my new job teaching english have been crazy. above is a picture of my 4th graders...it was a challenge getting them to sit in this shape :) slowly, i am getting used to the students, but it will take time for them to get used to me and my teaching styles as well. the attention span is very short...even shorter for the high schoolers!

it is a CHALLENGE teaching somewhere not my first language. wow. a few experiences where i have gotten myself in a little trouble. but, how am i supposed to know?! like yesterday, there was practice for the independence day parade...so i didnt have to teach the high schoolers since it was during our class time...but i found that out through a student earlier that morning...and later found out i was in charge of the flag holder group....it was interesting. i can laugh about it now...as well as many things. i am embarrassing myself many times a day. pretty funny.
above are some objects i took from some students during class. one boy accidentally hit me with one of the sticks....and many paper wads are thrown throughout the class. i did teach and do work....its just they are crazy. oh, man. i know God wants to teach me through this...so i am being open. one thing i have to do is loosen up.

well, it has already been a journey. i have 3 books to teach students with, and only 1 teacher's manual. i am thankful for this experience....it is making my mornings interesting...but left with little energy to do things at home, like cooking and cleaning and laundry. we are looking for some transportation, like a scooter for me to get to school, please pray for that...and also that we could get a good deal on the price. the school is about a 10-15 minute drive...and all other modes cost $$.

thank you for your love and support!

sounds very interesting Eileen! if the kids are anything like where I taught in Puyo, they are OUT OF CONTROL! ha! hang in there, they'll love you soon enough if they don't already!
