jared and i were hanging out in my parent's hotel room in san jose (friday) before the night before they left and we were reseraching how my dad could stay longer, etc. then, we were talking about how jared and i needed to leave CR for our 90 day visa in a week. the next thing we know, my mom is looking at flights to ft. lauderdale and they are about 69$ each way, which is cheaper than a bus ticket to panama! so, we booked the tix, and when we arrived in florida on wednessday, we were going to drive up to jacksonville to meet my dad and brother there on base.
jared and i ended up staying the night in my parent's hotel room on a roll-a-way bed (hilarious! and kind weird to have a sleepover with parents :)) and then drove back to quepos early the next morning. at about noon, we get a text from my dad saying their flight was cancelled to chicago! we put my dad on a flight back to quepos that afternoon. i guess he was meant to stay after all.
so we all left together for ft. lauderdale to see my brother and it was a great trip. my great uncle larry attended the graduation too, and it was good to see him as well. it was great to see where will lives, where he works, the helicopters, etc. it was a nice time. we went to the oldest city in the USA, St. Augustine and also introduced Jared to Dave and Busters, a Clayton family favorite. "I love the ticket games!" I won about 3.000 tickets, an all time high! we had a lot of fun and shared laughs.
after a 6 hour car ride in florida, to a 3 hour plane ride, to a 4 hour bus ride, we finally made it back to quepos at 930pm. wow, what a day.
the next day we had to get right back into routine and start thinking about our responsibilities. i had to get into the school mind set, and jared, back into the center.
after a full last couple months, i am rested, got some family energy, and am ready to go. my students this year are very energetic to have their science class taught in english and i am looking foward to beginning the year with them. i am teaching 1st grade and 2 2nd grade classes this year! I prefer these grades, so i am thankful for that as well. the books finally arrived (except the teacher's addition!) and i teach on mondays and tuesdays.
as jared mentioned before, yes, i found out i am pregnant. probably about 4 weeks along. we will have the baby here, maybe in san jose. i am due sometime in october.
oh yeah! to top it all off, my parents are seriously considering buying land here on our friend's property!! about 4.5 acres in dominical/baru area. wow, God is up to something!
