it was good to have my family here last week, and then for the next two weeks, i will have my good friend bmac here.  he is seriously considering coming down here to help out.  let's all pray for that.

touchdown!

do you think bryan (bmac) got tackled in this picture?  here's a hint: no

for recreation we tried to play fútbol americano.  i say tried because it ended up looking more like rugby than anything else.  i had a little experience with the american football spanish vocabulary because i watch the nfl games and the commentators speak spanish, so i picked up a lot of the lingo.  regardless, even though it more resembled rugby that football it was fun, we ended up playing tackle and everybody loved that.  i think everyone got hurt, but there were no injuries so that was good.  above are some pictures of that experience.

i have been preaching these past few weeks and since we go to a calvary chapel church, we go through the bible chapter by chapter.  i have preached on the three chapters of 2 thes.   it has been a good experience and allowed me to do some deeper study which is good.  i will continue with 1 timothy 1 next week.

PRAISE REPORT: we just had a guy in the program graduate last week which is a huge answer to prayer.  at any time we only have around 8 guys in the program so when someone completes the 9 month program it's a great sign of a life that is truly changing.  thank you for all of your prayers, i know that david and his mother appreciate it.  he is now working as a guard, but still living at the center.  he is welcome to stay there until he settles himself in.  this is sort of like our "re-entry" program, though we don't officially call it that.  he and his family are so grateful for the change in his life, and it is such a privilege to see such a dramatic change in someone's life caused by the power of Jesus Christ.  thank you all for your prayer and support and for your partnership not only in winning souls for Christ here, but actually making disciples which is time and energy consuming.  thank the Lord that he provides the guidance, energy, time, and change.  you water, i plant, but he makes it grow.  a wonderful truth.
